A Force To Be Reckoned With: The Mighty Star Wars Enterprise

In partnership with HEFTY.gg, the number one platform for gaming rewards and giveaways.

Introduction

1977 brought ABBA’s first tour of Australia and many other noteworthy events on the historical news calendar. These events include, and are pretty much limited to (in my opinion,) the beginning of the Star Wars franchise. The movies hit the silver screen and so began the desire to become a Jedi and explore planet Tatooine (kind of) and further. Thus, the lightsaber was introduced to the gaming world.

The latest introduction to the major franchise is set to be released on the 14th of March and will be quite the throwback for some long-time Star Wars game fans.

Grab your gear and your controller, soldiers. It’s time to return to the battlefront.

So take a look at the newest addition, we will. Read on, you must.

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection

Lucasfilm Games announced that the well-known and well-loved Battlefront (2004) and Star Wars Battlefront ll (2005) will be reintroduced to the world and introduced to the generation yet to have met them as the 8th Battlefront game in the Star Wars collection.

For those who are unaware, these games are the restored and renovated versions of two of the most popular Star Wars games. Veterans of the enterprise will be able to return to the battlefield yet again, exciting fans across the humble human globe.

Players will be able to play with and against characters such as Asajj Ventress, Kit Fisto and the ‘lesser-known’ Darth Vader. Play alongside Wookiee troopers, explore Jabba’s Palace and unlock new, and old, challenges whilst completing missions.

Keep your eye on this one because it might just nab top spot for best Star Wars games with the perfect touch of nostalgia and excitement.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

This 2003 RPG is considered by many to be one of the best RPGs around. BioWare received a big round of applause for this one, and it’s not hard to see why. The game is set way before the storyline of the films, exposing fans to a new and exciting storyline in which they go on their own, un-navigated journey and meet new characters.

People who have played Knights of the Old Republic, usually dubbed ‘KOTOR’ for short, will undoubtedly tell you how amazing the storyline is and how it’s the best game in the Star Wars canon.

This classic twist on the well-known tale is beloved in the gaming world by fans of the gaming industry as well as the movie series. KOTOR is by far the most demanded remake amongst Star Wars gaming fans, and arguably the one that holds the most nostalgic value.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

This 2019 masterpiece follows the story of a young Jedi called Cal Kestis. Players can take part in tricky combat using lightsabers, exploring the map and solving puzzles as they go. Described as a “souls-like” Star Wars game, Fallen Order received generally favorable critic reviews with the exploration, combat, and characters also receiving praise from sites such as GamesRadar, PC Gamer, and GameSpot.

The storyline is what makes this game stand out from the Ewok-crowded population of games in the industry.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

The newest addition to the franchise seemed to pick up the lightsaber baton from where Fallen Order dropped it. Players reunite with the character of Cal Kestis and can enjoy the new and improved gameplay that some Star Wars games, including its predecessor, unfortunately missed.

With the same exciting level of combat, exploration, and narrative, this game is one of the best we’ve seen in a while from the franchise. Jedi: Survivor gives players larger planets to explore which gives a sense of the open-world-style of gameplay, new weapon configurations to allow a wider variety of combat styles, and a more expansive narrative via new allies, enemies, and force powers.

The storyline of protagonist Cal is so gripping that we wouldn’t be surprised if it soon jumped to the silver screen. Will this a video game adaptation of a beloved movie franchise flipped on its head to become a movie adaptation of a video game series?

Conclusion

The world of Star Wars can’t seem to do anything wrong. This franchise has released banger after banger when it comes to toys and exciting RPGs and combat-themed video games. The depth to which some of the stories go is truly a work of art. We can’t wait to see what the Battlefront reboot will hold in store for fans! The launch isn’t that far far away so make sure you’re in this galaxy for next week.
